Founded in Napa County, California, 3C’s Rescue was born directly out of field work in our local community.
While working alongside local rescue partners on Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) projects to manage community cat populations, a clear pattern emerged: many of the cats trapped weren't feral at all. Mixed in among the wild community cats were abandoned pets, lost strays, and naturally gentle felines who craved human affection. They didn't belong back on the streets—they just needed a second chance to find a loving home.
However, traditional shelter environments—filled with noisy, stressful metal cages—often overwhelm newly rescued cats, making them retreat or appear fearful, which drastically lowers their chances of adoption.
We set out to create a better bridge from the streets to a forever home. By building a cage-free, free-roaming sanctuary room, we give these friendly rescues a cozy, home-like environment where they can build confidence, show off their true personalities, and connect naturally with potential adopters.
Our Unique Storefront Model
What truly sets 3C’s Rescue apart is our innovative, symbiotic partnership with Kitten Caboodle Boutique Marketplace.
Located at The Grape Yard, our sanctuary room sits directly adjacent to Kitten Caboodle’s artisan marketplace. Through a floor-to-ceiling indoor glass viewing window, boutique shoppers can watch our adoptable residents nap, play, and explore while browsing locally made goods.
How This Model Helps Us Save More Lives:
🏠 Guaranteed Rent Coverage: Our artisan partners pay a flat monthly fee to showcase and sell their handmade goods in the marketplace. These fees directly cover the building's monthly rent and overhead—providing 3C's Rescue with a permanent, secure home without draining our rescue funds!
🩺 Sustained Medical Funding: On top of rent coverage, 10% of every retail sale made at Kitten Caboodle goes directly into our veterinary and animal care fund for vaccines, spay/neuter surgeries, and emergency medical treatments.
👁️ Daily Visibility: Instead of being tucked away in an isolated shelter facility, our cats get daily, natural exposure to hundreds of community members and potential adopters every week.
